Profile

Kent Spitfires VICC were founded in 2011 by Rob Comber (Kent and England VI) and have been progressively developing year on year.

After playing friendly fixtures in 2012 and 2013 the Spitfires were runners up at the BCEW BJMT Development Festival in Leicester in September 2013, with Tom Barton collecting the Best new player award. This was a fantastic achievement for the club at their first competitive event.

The Spitfires entered the BCEW Development League in 2014 & gradually improved as that league became the BCEW Southern Regional League.

The 2018 season was a whole new challenge for Kent as they joined the BCEW National League & competed at the BCEW BJMT ECB International Ball Challenge Cup. During the season batting was a struggle at times at the new higher level of competition but the team earned praise for their bowling & fielding from opponents & umpires alike.

Spitfires continue to welcome new players of any gender, age or ability as the team look to build towards fielding two sides in order to allow players to get sufficient cricket at the right level for them.
