Profile

Hampshire Visually Impaired Cricket Club officially started in 2008 as a club, however visually impaired cricket was happening in the county before this time, spear-headed by Toynbee School.

The club was initially formed by parents to enable those outside of the school and those who had finished school to play cricket.

Hampshire do not have a home ground as they prefer to play nomadically throughout the county, aiming to play at least one game in the south, middle and north of the county. The ground they use most often is the delightful Broad Half Penny Down, the cradle of cricket.

The club played in the National League for five years, including finishing as runners-up in 2012 and have reached the semi-finals of both the BBS Cup and the BCEW Twenty20 Cup. However, in 2014 the club was forced to drop down to the development league in order to regroup, following a reduction in player numbers.
