India sends Bangladesh crashing

In what may be the quickest ever finish to a game, Bangladesh collapsed to 57 for 9 in 20 overs against India at the Central College grounds. In reply, the Indians wrapped up their victory in just 1.5 overs. The Indians who have done outstandingly well with the bat till now in the tournament shone with the ball this time to send Bangladesh crashing to one of its lowest ever total. Vice-captain Ajay Kumar Reddy turned in an all round performance taking 4 wickets for 8 runs and then smashing 23 runs in 6 balls, to be adjudged later as the Man of the Match. With this, Bangladesh is yet to register a win in the tournament.

Aussies thrash South Africa

All-round performance by Lindsay Heaven helped Australia to thrash South Africa by 8 wickets at the Central College grounds. Opting to bat first after winning the toss, Australian batsmen found the going tough against a tight spell of bowling by Peter Robinson (3 for 27) and Lindsay Heven (2 for 38). Lawrence Ruthven was the only batsman to shine, scoring 53 off 39 balls. Chasing a modest target of 186, Lindsay Heaven and Matt McCarthy combined well to put on 171 runs together and Australia wrapped up the match in only 14 overs losing only two wickets in the process.

Nepal lose no wicket but lose match

Fine batting display by West Indies proved to be no match for Nepal with the Windies winning comfortably by 73 runs at the match played at Aditya Global Sports Ground, Bangalore. The match was restricted to 18 overs due to the presence of the dew on the pitch. Windies won the toss and opted to bat first. Gregory Stewart and Halden Forde carried their form from the previous matches to post a century partnership of 105 in only 48 balls. In reply, though Nepal did not lose any wicket the target never seemed in their reach and eventually they ended at 164 for no loss.

Sri Lanka caves in to Pak

Pakistan had another easy outing against Sri Lanka defeating them by 9 wickets at Aditya Global Sports Ground. Electing to bat after winning the toss, Sri Lankans found it difficult to put away Anees Javed who shackled the batsmen grabbing 3 wickets for 14. The Lankans never could recover after this and ended at 147 for 9 in the allotted 20 overs. In reply, the Pakistanis toyed with the bowling, with Ali Murtaza and Mohammad Zafar stitching up a winning partnership of 94 runs in 33 balls. It required just 9.1 overs for Pakistan to over-run the target.
