Metro and Northants handed tough cup draws

25th November 2013

BCEW National League sides Metro and Northants Steelbacks have received the toughest assignments following the draws for the 2014 cup competitions.

Metro start at home against Nottinghamshire in the BBS Cup First Round with a trip to Lancashire in the quarter-finals the reward for the winners. If the London club manage to battle through those ties, they may face the far from small matter of 2011 and 2012 league champions, Sussex Sharks, who were the runners up in the BBS cup last season. If that draw wasn’t bad enough, they also face Sussex in the BCEW T20 cup quarter-finals.

Northants are unbelievably guaranteed an eighth successive away match in cup competition as they travel to Sussex in the BBS cup quarter-finals and visit 2013 National League runners-up Yorkshire at the same stage of the T20.

Warwickshire start the defence of their trophies away from home in the quarter-finals of both competitions - in the BBS Cup they face the winners of the all development league clash between Nottingham Knights and Berkshire, while in the BCEW T20 Cup they travel to the other Nottingham club, Nottinghamshire VICC.
