Somerset VICC Receive Development League Trophy

11th February 2013

Following their victory in the BCEW Southern Development League in 2012 Somerset Visually Impaired Cricket Club have been presented with the league trophy by Somerset CCC 2nd XI player James Regan.

The presentation took place in a small ceremony at Taunton Vale Cricket Club on Saturday 26th January 2013 following the club’s latest training session.

Somerset endured horrendous luck with games being rained off in 2012 but still managed to see off Berkshire Stags & RNC Hereford to claim their first trophy.

Nine members of the Somerset VICC squad attended the presentation & their squad is gradually increasing in size. They will continue playing mainly development cricket in 2013 entering the renamed BCEW South & West Development League, the new BCEW Development Twenty20 Cup & they have also entered the BBS National Knockout Cup where they’ll face national league side Northants Steelbacks in the first round.
