England receive support ahead of World Cup opener

The England Blind Cricket Team have received messages of support from a number of well known cricketers ahead of the start of the 2014 Blind Cricket World Cup on Thursday 27th November.

Those to tweet wishes of good luck included England test cricketer Ravi Bopara, England Womens internationals Danielle Wyatt, Jenny Gunn and Becky Grundy, England Deaf cricketer Jimmy Dixon, the BBC Test Match Special team, the England & Wales Cricket Board and The Primary Club, along with a whole host of blind cricket clubs and players.

West Indies opener and IPL star Chris Gayle retweeted a message of support as did England Womens International Laura Marsh and former England Rugby Captain Lawrence Dallaglio.

As the West Indies have withdrawn from the tournament in Cape Town England will now start their campaign against defending champions Pakistan.
