Blind Cricket England & Wales (BCEW) are pleased to announce that our annual Twenty20 Finals Day will be hosted at Wolverhampton Cricket Club in 2016.

It is the first time the ground will stage the season-ending event that will also include the presentation of BCEW’s Player of the Year awards and three more inductions into the Blind Cricket Hall of Fame.

This is the third venue to stage the finals of the BCEW David Townley Memorial Twenty20 Cup following on from Leamington Cricket Club (2008 to 2012) and North London Cricket Club (2013 to 2015).

Sussex Sharks will be hoping to qualify for Finals Day to defend the Trophy they narrowly won in 2015 in a thrilling final against Lancashire Lions. The quarter-finals of the tournament take place on Saturday 13th August, with the four winners battling for the Trophy on Saturday 24th September at Finals Day.

Dave Gavrilovic, Chairman & Competitions Director of BCEW said: “It is terrific that we are able to move our T20 finals around so that our players can enjoy playing at a variety of high-quality grounds.

Wolverhampton Cricket Club hosted an England Blind Cricket International against India in Summer 2015 and the ground is an excellent venue that I’m sure our teams will very much enjoy playing at.

"I would like to thank Mike Elphick and the committee at Wolverhampton CC for their offer to stage the event. I would also like to thank Andy Bennett and his colleagues at North London Cricket Club for the exemplary job they did hosting finals day in each of the last three seasons.”

Mike Elphick, Community Development Officer at Wolverhampton Cricket Club, added: "We are delighted that Blind Cricket England and Wales have chosen to host their Twenty20 Finals Day at our club.

"We have a fantastic venue, which has been much improved to enable both players and supporters with visual impairments and physical disabilities to enjoy the facilities and we look forward to welcoming everyone to our club for this year's event."
