4th February 2017

** Report partially by the England & Wales Cricket Board

England bounced back from consecutive losses to beat South Africa by 43 runs in Mumbai today.

The much needed win which came in their fifth match in as many days keeps alive their hopes of reaching the T20 Blind World Cup semi-finals.

Leading the charge were openers Matthew Page and Ed Hossell, who put on 88 for the first wicket before Page was dismissed for 44, with Hossell following soon after for 43.

England's top scorer in yesterday's Sri Lanka match, Peter Blueitt, immediately picked up where he left off to build a score with Hossell and subsequently Justin Hollingsworth, Nathan Foy and Rory Hossell.

Blueitt recorded his third half century of the tournament to date with an unbeaten 56.

Hollingsworth also excelled with the bat, posting 69 from just 27 balls as England finished their innings on 257 for five.

South Africa responded through Dominic Scott Adriaans' 96 but England took three wickets in the final five overs to stem the flow of runs and leave their opponents 43 runs short.

Jimmy Millard was the pick of England's bowlers with his 2-46.

England’s next fixture versus Bangladesh on 5th February has become a straight knockout for England, who following Bangladesh’s 9 run victory over Australia, must win to retain any hope of reaching the semi finals.
