CoronaVirus Blind Cricket Update: 25th April

Hi Everyone,

We hope you’re all keeping well.

Following ECB’s announcements that the professional cricket season will not now start until at least 1st July and that all recreational cricket remains suspended until further notice BCEW are sorry to be making the following announcement:

We are sorry to say that we are forced to extend the suspension of Blind Cricket until at least Thursday 2nd July. This means that there will definitely not be any matches, either competitive or friendly, before that date and all training and development activities remain suspended for the foreseeable future too.

There is still no way to guarantee when or if the season will actually get underway, but we advise all involved to please plan as if it will be the first weekend of July until told otherwise.

At this stage we are unable to confirm what league or cup competitions will go ahead if we do get started, we have a number of ideas to get competitions played but until we know a definite start date it is pointless to try and confirm precise plans.

We’re sorry that this news is so negative, but the most important thing right now is looking after the safety of our players, officials, coaches and those NHS or care workers who are putting themselves at risk to keep everyone healthy.

Stay safe and stay well everyone.
